hi all, in advance read. new mac , looking use time machine external hard drive. girlfriend has huge seagate external hdd , uses program creates small backup images on hard drive. here do: partition hard drive such there 2 partitions, 1 windows machine (ntfs) , 1 mac backup (hfs+). please note, windows machine not need access mac part , vice versa. understand there program called macdrive let me keep whole drive mac formatted, i'd rather not that. instead, 2 separate partitions time machine doesn't try overstep boundaries. how go doing this? so i've been mac user since april of year , far i'm loving every minute of it, started out blackbook , have added imac arsenal, along whole host of other apple accessories. until yesterday didnt realize how cool apple products were.... friend, female doesnt know technology purchased acer laptop , came pre-installed windows vista, guess vista has gotten bad rep because called me , asked me downgrade xp... surprised because doesnt know technology bought thing surf web, check email , use ms office. comes on last night , take out of box feels weird me lack of better word ugly , clunky, realized had gotten used of macbook, right there appreciation apple design grew immensely , dont know how used windows pc's , laptops long. go ahead , install xp , turns out thing didnt come cd drivers go acer website , drivers section down anyways make long story short after googling around , spending night searching drivers pretty frustrated. got last driv...

hi, have cellphone plan rogers in canada, , i'm thinking getting hardware upgrade iphone. i'll keep current plan, not have data plan. i'm university student next 7 years, have wi-fi wherever go. thus, don't intend on buying 1 of roger's horrible data plans. i've been hearing horror stories people don't have data plans , have been slammed obscene bills because iphones wandered onto using edge instead of wi-fi, perhaps when walking around or perhaps when wi-fi cut out. brings me question; possible disable edge on new iphone 3g rogers canada? looked @ friend's iphone, , when go settings -> general -> network, there no edge menu. @ there 'data roaming' feature assume prevents downloading data while roaming outside of roger's network. know of way disable edge can connect if i'm on wireless network, without having unlock/hack iphone? if that's not possible, what's easiest/safe...
