apple icon on my iMac 24" screen, doesn't it light up ever?


hi,

1. doesn't apple icon on imac's monitor ever light up? ie. when sleeping or?

2. manual says when hit power button on of monitor, menu should appear , can click on 'sleep' or 'shutdown'.
when press button system goes sleep mode without asking me @ all?

need help with itunes 7.7
