i updated 10.5.4 today , cannot enable fast user switching. i've rebooted several times. have no username showing in menu bar. when try turn on in system preferences, can check box, view as: dropdown never enables can change name else. , then, when close system preferences , open again, it's unchecked. ideas? also, odd thing, have nas, , when first log in, request log nas. default username not 1 logged in on, different user (that doesn't require password). it's easy enough change user name , enter password network drives mount, though checked box remember login info in keychain, os x asks me enter again every time reboot. all!   fast user switching works fine me in 10.5.4. try repairing permissions.   Forums Macs macOS ...

ok... first mac... first laptop too... did buy refurbished 3000 dollars thing should not play cds , such perfection cook food , feed me too.. refurbished or not. since i've never had macbook before or laptop matter... normal? first, have program made windows/mac. works great on old computer dumb thing not read disc. figured since older program (2006), maybe computer wont read it. also, wasn't sure how claims work on both macs , windows work well. didn't give thought though program work (one of reasons bought own computer). however, thing sucks @ playing music cds well. these cds brand new fresh packages, no scratches @ all... older releases don't think should matter wouldn't think. first cd put in, read nicely... ripped took out. second cd took couple reads worked. third cd took forever!! kept spitting out. other though computer works excellent. if can't animation program work on it, @ least able read albums. so.. wanna hea...
