Connecting Wireless Router with iMac


i switched cable internet dsl today , received time capsule. went through setup process airport utility , thought had working. can see hard drive of time capsule, internet connection isn't working. if hook imac modem, works.

now, when had dsl, didn't have kind of router. technician told me if wanted connect computer directly modem, have call them , give them ethernet id computer in order work. i'm wondering if need call cable company , give them ethernet id time capsule.

can list settings might helpful solution, don't know if make difference because airport utility says fine. appreciated.
 

well... figured out! searching solutions on internet , came across another macrumors thread. quote got solution from:

so rebooted modem connected time capsule. when modem came up, internet connection worked. basically, other times rebooted modem, connected imac.

anyways, setup have been easier if documentation have said turn modem off when connect time capsule. turn on , go through airport utility setup.

need help with itunes 7.7
