SMTP issues using mail.app with me.com addy


so set-up me.com account in mail.app on macbook (i won't use webmail version of me.com it's pretty limited in functionality of now). anyway, things seem working decently, 1 big exception: mail.app can't seem connect me.com's smtp server. tried sending test email gmail account , message ends in outbox vs. sent. ran mail connection doctor , error message:

could not connect smtp server. check network connection , entered correct information in account preferences. verify server supports ssl. if not, uncheck "use ssl" checkbox in advanced tab of account preferences.​

else experiencing this? found fix?

need help with itunes 7.7
