O2 - For those that have not received the confirmation text/email

hi all,

well, haven't received text or email - , past 6.00pm deadline. have order in o2 online saying 'in progress'.

decided ring o2 , chose "i less happy o2 experience" option. spoke passed me through iphone team.

explained wished complain 1 reason: o2 have broken law.
explained received email stating order had been accepted. fair enough. however, payment handset ("the goods") had been taken out of account.
according eu online purchasing legislation, online shops , suppliers not allowed take money off customers until goods dispatched. prevent high value goods being charged if no stock can guaranteed, , prevent consumers losing value of cash no return.
know £59 not earn lot of interest, principal still applies.

explained communication process had not been handled @ all. if out of stock, retailers supposed not take payment, , contact consumer when stock available , confirm if want purchase go ahead.

guy on phone seemed take pretty - , has escalated issue. have name , number, , going contact me tomorrow afternoon answer , proposed rectification why o2 have done this, , broken law.

did explain complaint not phone not going delivered tomorrow - these things happen, , understand demand high. view in next batch , mine in stock on 16th, ready receive on 18th. however, not guarantee this.

of in same situation, 'in progress' order, , whom have been charged handset, may wish phone o2 , point out them displeased have taken cash handset before goods in stock, or despatched.

thanks quite news, maybe might bit of compensation (or free phone). still not make disappointment of not getting phone.
