The Psychology of product naming.

i have stuck @ bottom of other thread, closed typing it.

here why people call itouch: syllables.

ipod, 2
ipod nano, 4. nano means small (1 billionth).
ipod shuffle, 4. shuffle, action
ipod classic, 4. classic, period in time.
ipod photo, 4, photo. take photo.

above flow. numbers.

ipod touch, 3. doesn't flow. odd number.
itouch, 2. flows. number.

if had called ipod tapit, people using "ipod tapit" or "tapit", not itapit.

apple screwed giving 3 syllable name. "touch" isn't bad 1 syllable. since it's more common english word inherently consider sense rather device, leaving alone difficult. obvious thing left in apple's iworld "itouch".

feel free close thread.
