Observations from a former Windows Mobile User
i have been in past microsoft fanboy, apple consistantly beating ms mobile team purchased new iphone.
overall happy phone, thought summarize of things miss windows mobile. maybe haven't learned how accomplish same on iphone , can post instructions. here goes:
- windows mobile phones have "home screens," default screens highly customizable. typically mine show me time of next appointment, missed calls, new messages, , current sound profile. of these accessible via home screen. many people used screen display weather or other info. (this great wallpaper prior unlocking phone)
- when reminder pops on windows mobile, there option dismiss or snooze. used snooze button since set reminder 15 minutes before meetings ready go, hit "snooze until 5 minutes before" desk , go meeting
- able flag emails followup mobile device -- useful when checking mail on device , president of company sent email
- speed dials -- pressing , holding number dial phone number
- instant access number pad - pressing "phone" icon take me directly number pad. if typed in contact name find contact here.
- contacts note field doesn't transfer iphone did on windows mobile.
- also, doesn't relate windows mobile, why aren't able sort "favorite" contacts???
restate happy iphone, these things apple better compete in corporate world.
seconded these two. i've seen there app jailbroken phones gives home screen type functionality, that's going have wait until 2.0 jailbreak.
postoning reminders, i'm quite surprised basic functionality isn't built in. if has tips on how can i'd interested.
