FAN discounts apply to data or not?


i went at&t store , 1 person said flat out "no", said "yes" , read here depends on deal employer (unc-ch) has at&t. w

true? if comes down employer, there way can check online benefits are?
 

on at&t account, when go page each individual phone...... 1 st phone not iphone says 25% discount on plan, , accessories.
on iphone page, shows no discounts. @ least 1st gen. under upgrade info iphone eligible @ discounted price believe discount on 3g iphone , not on data plan hasn't in past. @ least employer.
