iPhone 3G IMAP+IDLE/Push not working


i've tried life of me , can't work. host uses imap , idle (i've tried gmail sure) , email won't push phone. i've tried removing apps , reinstalling firmware , still won't it.

push set on, accounts in question set fetch , fetch interval set manual (shouldn't need interval if i'm using push/idle) - else having problem/know of way rectify it? email important me! :/
 

i have push set on 1st gen phone yahoo mail , mine pretty sketchy. people have no problems, have problems. make sure mail in question says push next in fetch data > advanced section. push or fetch next mail account. if doesn't push, fetch. have fetch interval in case doesn't push b/c yahoo pushes , doesn't. think misses when on phone when tries push.

also, gmail not support push @ time. think later fall i've read others on here.

need help with itunes 7.7
