2G vs 3G 2 year rate comparison

hi,

did 2 year comparison cost buy 2 original iphones vs 2 3g iphones. purchasing 2 lowest price family plan, assuming find 2 old iphones, figured cost on course of 2 year contract $800 more own new iphones versus cost buy original original rate plans. (and that's without texting option on 3g plan.)

great iphone 'half price' walk out door with, have decide if faster speed , gps worth spending $800 more on 2 years.

2g - $898 (slower internet, no gps)
3g - $498 (faster internet , gps)


rates 2 years (same minutes, text included 2g, not 3g)

2g - $1920 ($79 month 2 years)
3g - $3096 ($129 month 2 years)


totals 2 years iphone ownership

2g - $2818
3g - $3596 ($778 more 2g)

me personally? i'll paying same bill i've been paying 6 years....about $80 per month. i'm dropping text messages 3g iphone, again, never use them on current phone anyway...nothing missed, , lose sms spam. combine faster internet , gps...it's better current phone. in upgrade me.

make decision yourself.

current plan like. have internet on phone? edge, 3g, regular gprs? have gps enabled device? @ 2 phones , add pros , cons compared current phones.

not target of iphone theives (or pretty cell phone theives in general)
con:
edge - slower internet, bearable
limited google's cell tower gps-like system. (only discovered this)
more limited on music storage. (2gb minisd card)
no touch screen.
difficult use joystick navigate.
difficult use bluetooth syncing.

3g iphone:
pro:
3g - faster
full gps along cell tower , wifi location services
wifi
more music storage have music (adds 10gb)
bigger screen
better keyboard (i hate keyboard on 2125)
easy use touchscreen.

con:
initial upfront cost (fortunately dad taking care of birthday present/christmas gift, mean no more christmas gifts)
no text messages (didn't use them anyway)
target of iphone theives
don't think can sync via bluetooth.
