Original iPhone Owner Showing as Ineligible for Upgrade

i current owner of original 16gb iphone. in fact have 2 iphones on family talk plan.

here issue: eligible upgrade according at&t site on july 14th. went local at&t store , ordered 16gb black iphone via df $299.99 no problem. happened logged account today , shows line not eligible upgrade until 11-08-2008 ... called at&t business customer care (i have fan discount) , advised account indeed not eligible upgrade discount , 16gb iphone cost me $499.99.

advised thought existing iphone users eligible $199-$299 price regardless of when purchased it. said untrue , standard upgrade guidelines apply whether exisiting iphone user or other phone. pushed matter checked supervisor , reread of internal documentation , again advised not eligible upgrade.

went , checked eligiblility every week april until july 1st, in effort convince me of foolishness, stating not eligible on of dates. asked check status on july 14th, when put in order. stated in store manually altered upgrade status day , in big trouble luck guesses , proceeds make me feel criminal. didn't ask store change status ... said eligible on-line when checked morning. have none of , kept stating wrong , have deal store on this. called store , said not worry it.

question ... wrong in assertion existing iphone owners eligible upgrade pricing iphone 3g? have in writing at&t states this? thought there .pdf iready document spoke existing iphone owners.

please either post or e-mail me information if have it. still concerned have issues activating phone when pick in store later week.

in advance.

mike
