so i'm thinking of nabbing 1st gen iphone after upgrades puts theirs on ebay , wondering possibility of removing data plan required activate on att. called att 3 times , talked few reps, said:
first rep said activate old iphone have choose data plan in activation process. told him didn't mind activating w/ data plan wondered if there possibility remove data after activated, said not problem , done.
second rep called said same , when tried clarify w/ him removed asked me hold , either sat there picked nose or talked manager or came , said data plan not removed.
third rep similar second... same explanation on why didn't want it, put on hold, came , said required.
so... bluffing, b/c if search around there time remove data plan:
http://www.talkiphone.com/dont-need-data-remove-it-125/
don't know if still holds true or not thats best evidence i've found shows optional. plus, of them seemed know , mention visual voicemail wouldn't work w/o accessing data network.
w/ 1st gen iphone , has data plan removed w/o unlocking iphone?
w/ 1st gen iphone has option in att online account remove data plan if have data plan?
still not totally sure buying old iphone best route, after 10 months old iphone remain cheaper (assuming used price of $350 , $20 data plan (200 included tm) , $30 data plan w/ $5 200 tm) 3g). attached graph visual people
however, after 24 months 3g end costing $200 more used one.
thoughts?
