Mac performance

hi there,

i'm relatively new in production (i know basic stuff when experimented cubase) , of producers i've asked recommended me start using logic pro. i'm afraid of not being able adapt/learn software...

tough, i'm thinkin buying imac (2.66ghz,2gb ram) , ask main differences between imac , laptop (the lowest macbook pro) in terms of performance when using logic?

other tips/advices welcome

(sorry bad english , structuring)

thanks!

the entry level macbook pro fine, in fact it'll of demanding professionals fine.

i've asked previous generation macbook pro demanding stuff (if means anything, logic pro, pd-extended webcam input , logic 32ch of rewire @ same time) , it's handled fine.

either though, imacs , macbook pros both exceptionally performers, , logic pro 8 seems resource efficient in comparison other daw packages such cubase (which shameful in comparison logic ). macbook pro if can afford it, large (500gb +) external firewire hard drive backing projects.
