Certain websites won't load in OS X but they will in Windows


hello i'm in need of little assistance.

i've had mbp 3 weeks , seems have been working ok. installed of programs needed , have 50gb partition windows xp enable me use of tools job.

week ago noticed student services link college not load. https://homerconnect.ithaca.edu/

when click "log in now" error saying page unable load. thought problem on end called staff , said working. went through process of clearing cache, changing dns servers, etc no avail still got error.

fast forward yesterday tried go onto www.newegg.com , got error. tried slashdot.com , macosxhints.com , still couldn't load page. frustrated logged onto xp , visit pages no apparent errors. can ping sites , returns successful response.

did quick search , noticed wasn't 1 having problem

problem prevalent in safari , song bird.

did router factor reset, didn't work either. router wrt54g.

i'm @ wits end here :( nothing has worked! me fix problem?
 

i think trying load secure web pages (https) correct?
try using firefox load same pages.
@ school can't use safari access outlook web access page or facebook.

need help with itunes 7.7
