Question about music synthesis/production


hey guys,
i'll honest i'm not in market new laptop right (waiting out nehalem or whatever's out next summer) musician , use several daws , reason create, record , produce own music.
question is, however, college student needing laptop, macbook suffice kind of workload? dont know if i'd running graphically intensive have been getting photoshop , working friend in video production there's potential there, based solely on music aspect recommend?
 

i use macbook pro main music machine. use logic pro main daw without problem. other day kicks had reason, max/msp, 6 instaces of massive, 14 instances of kontakt3, serious filter plugins , 2 instances of structure , handled all.

decent firewire interface (i use motu traveller) firebox or onyx satellite can literally replace filled entire room 15 years ago on space of coffee table.

totally honest regular macbook can well, main reason got pro 17" screen real estate (you can 1920x1200 hd screen option).. , plastic makes skin crawl.. mbp has serious style.

if have specific questions i'd happy answer them.

need help with itunes 7.7
