[Advice] What hardware/revision to buy?

so, have decided buy macbook pro. have budget $2499 1 , have test drived 1 @ apple store in mall of louisiana, baton rouge.

problem deciding when buy. people advice me buy after macbook pro refresh. however, here comes me. next revision of macbook pro promised or expect come new montevenia platform. platform able [to know] support future nehalem , current penryn processors. however, have heard new montevenia platform more beta hardware else.

don't want test subject of new hardware may crash or have hardware bugs. on bright side, montevenia platform promises faster speeds. if not mistaken current platform of macbook pro santa rosa, i've heard good, maxed out in speeds.

advice get: montevina (a new unknown platform) or santa rosa platform.

also, can n00b question, can update processor, example, switch penryn nehalem in macbook pro? or soldered mother board?

opinions or comments welcomed. :)

you can't update processor. advice is, if need 1 now, go buy it. current penryn mbp stable , refined revision yet. optimized battery life, top notch efficiency etc. didn't want test subject nor subjected rev issues. prefer gear reliable , mature hence getting 2.5 penryn.
