Why is my iPhone 3G "Backing up" always?


everytime time connect itunes syncs songs etc, backing , takes forever, there way can stop backing always?
 

in itunes go prefs.> syncing> "disable auto. sync. iphones , ipods"

need help with itunes 7.7
