Buying iPod Touch, what firmware?

know apple has released 1.1.5 don't want update 2.0, 2.0 on the touch? , if isn't, should/will apple upgrade free since touch purchased after 2.0 release?
 

there's no indication apple plans on doing this. can tell right update entirely optional , new ipods come 1.1.5 firmware.

need help with itunes 7.7
