AT&T Early termination question


hey,
i'm traveling belgium san francisco month, leaving tomorrow, , thinking about:

-buying iphone 3g (or maybe have american friend buy if need american sign contract)
-paying cancellation fee
-use new iphone in belgium proximus (belgian carrier)

possible? or there waiting period before can use termination?
(the reason plan belgian iphone launch has been postponed , iphone carrier ovr here (mobistar) has lousy 3g coverage whereas proximus 3g network covers entire country)
 

early termination mean have give phone back, , phone still need unlocked

need help with itunes 7.7
