im going buying 24" imac 2.8 ghz 4gb of ram.

ive seen lots of threads saying should upgrade graphics processor gaming dont play games. wondering.....



if need upgrade watching movies , tv tuner?

no not need upgrade video card watch movies or tv tuner. 2600 perform or better 8800 in these areas.

graphics processor name indicates. 8800 card superior 3d games , limited number of applications use opengl render 3d.

no not worth $220 reasons described.

apples future plans operating system begin make use of graphics processor more render graphics, down road make more sense have more powerful one. how , whether applications require complete rewrite take advantage of technology not yet known.
