Battery life with Exchange Horrible! Wifi worse than 3g?

ok, wife , have iphone 3g's. battery lasting 2 days mine lasting 6hrs. difference exchange , apps. our use pretty similar other around 60 emails day gets around 7. understand difference way big not software issue.

re-cap of first 2 days iphone exchange -

first day - in office , not iphone connect wifi had 3g , phone lasted 13hrs heavy use.

day 2 - got wep work on wifi , battery lasted 7hrs less email , less use day one.

tweeted on twitter , replies did test... no exchange configuration on iphone , battery lasted 24 plus hours... exchange 6 hrs

seems exchange killing battery's on iphones, , maybe 3g better wifi, or @ least wep wifi. ( have non-wep wifi @ home , seems last forever wife?)

test no wifi again tomorrow , see happens.

else notice same thing. did not see battery/exchange postings already.

 

i use exchange (fetch, 15 min) , wifi @ work/home, , 3g in between. talk on phone maybe 15 min day, if that, use maps, app store, safari, , apps decent amount (2-3 hours per day of 'usage'). have full charge when leave in morning, , down 50% when plug in @ night before go bed. wish there app or feature accurate percentages of battery life remaining.

anyway, sure phone charging properly? mine @ first not. i'd leave plugged in, batter meter wouldn't move much, after several hours. realized little "charging" icon @ top right went "lightning bolt" "ac plug" after 20 minutes. shouldn't go "ac plug" icon until charged.

solution turn off iphone , let charge way. worked , since unit charges normally, , problem described above has gone away.
