Poor Treatment of Non-iPhone Customers at Apple Store

last friday evening, wife , @ grove in los angeles other shopping, , had planned mbp upcoming fall semester if apple store wasn't crazy.

walked up, see huge line see there not many customers inside store. walked front of store , told apple employee @ front there purchase mbp (and knew 1 wanted), told we'd have wait in line iphone customers. asked if sure policy, explaining didn't make sense make wait in line waiting iphone when didn't have phone , knew wanted, , told yes, have wait in line. yea, no thanks, lady.

little peeved, knew of activation problems earlier in day , figured local manager being little overzealous.

called around next morning few other local stores , found had same policy. yes, come store buy computer, you'd have wait in iphone line god knows how long in order so.

did different answer @ beverly center store , went there right away. still had substantial line, , inside of store busy @ grove night before, asked wait off side minute until personal shopper. said that, employee came on , walked store, answered of our questions , helped buy computer without issues @ all. took time our printer , ipod rebates system on 1 of display computers. during short time in there, saw few other non-iphone customers same treatment. in all, result of particular store's intelligent treatment of non-iphone shoppers, made $3000 , dedicated customer in 10 minutes. i'll buying mbp myself in coming weeks, , go straight beverly center location when i'm ready so.

today wife read moronic policy ran @ grove still going on, week later! despite relatively calm atmosphere in store, they're still making customers line outside, regardless of they're there for. made person wait holding imac brought in repair! link here.

fan of iphone (my wife , both have 1st-gen), i'm fan of apple's great computers and excellent customer service. disappointed see 100% focus on iphone , iphone only, @ expense of other customers. hope (and others') experience @ grove location merely result of coincidentally poor decisions store managers instead of corporate policy.

sent comments steve@mac.com, couldn't find address general customer comments apple retail stores.

i think stems people saying they're coming in buy computer , walk out phone. there have been reports of happening. however, if you're coming in other phone shouldn't allow purchase phone. seems simple me. identify true iphone purchasers giving them ticket, stamp (not tramp stamp ladies), or else allow them seen iphone customers vs other customer.
