HELP:: Questions about SD-SDI, 4:2:2 and camera codecs

the first thing want know sd-sdi or hd-sdi is. think uncompressed raw footage coming straight out of ex1. it'd compressed cam @ 35mbps , stored on sxs card instead goes straight iohd compress using proress (not sure bit rate) can edited on fly. have worked out far i'm wrong please correct me.

else dont know 4:2:2 means or 4:1:1. know got uncompressed hd colour???? how relate sd tape cams can buy???

sony use mpeg-2 long gop codec encode sxs discs @ 35mbps. panasonic use dvcpro/dvcpro 50 , avc intra 100/50 both @ 100mbps , 50mbps. considering ex1 , hvx201a similar cameras quite difference in file sizes difference in quality of codecs. whats best what?

appreciated if explain these things me.

sdi (both sd , hd versions) connection type carrying video , audio signals. digital , uncompressed.

4:2:2 , 4:1:1 forms of color sampling. can read here.

won't go differences between compression schemes, heads up, panasonic 200a (or 201a) not shoot avc. on high end panasonics.
