Firmware 2.0 timing out.


when download iphone 2.0 firmware update itouch gets half way downloaded gives me error message saying timed out. have tried on 15 times. called apple , lady said virus software took down , tried again no luck. went apple store , there 1 1/2 hour wait store. went next day , had wait 8 hours talk someone. think should try? oh , have purchased firmware. please help.
