App Store Updates-what happens to user files?


i can't remember seeing covered anywhere, i'm hoping on here has heard answer...

have application in app store creates database on user's device (in app's sandbox, of course). has there been indication of whether files in app's sandbox remain in tact when update applied? application involves user entering lot of information on time , not acceptable deleted every time there update, nor want implement entire device-to-computer file syncing mechanism can support updating app.

need help with itunes 7.7
