Good light use desktop machine?


lately, i've felt i've been missing "desktop experience" since buying ibook g4 main computer. don't me wrong, it's great machine , serves 100% of needs. i'm tired of using both desktop , notebook, it's huge pain. so, i've been looking used desktop macs.

@ first looked @ g4 mac mini's, seem little expensive. looking small form factor, because have little space.

realized old imac g3 has been sitting around, doing nothing.

max out ram, put in new hard drive , think have jukebox/light internet machine.

but, i'm weary of doing because have clamshell ibook g3. has faster processor , more ram, , panther runs pretty horribly on it. (300 mhz, 160 mb ram, compared imac's 233 mhz , 32 mb of ram)

planning on putting jaguar on it, should run great on 256 mb of ram, think limiting factor here 233 mhz processor. going enough run enough run internet browser, ichat, , itunes @ same time?
 

i have 350mhz g3 imac running on tiger using ichat , usable.

need help with itunes 7.7
