what's general consensus regarding buying brand new (in original packaging) macs off of ebay non-authorized apple dealers? makes me wary, may being overly cautious. came across this, looks pretty good:
http://cgi.ebay.com/new-apple-imac-...yz111418qqsspagenamezwdvwqqrdz1qqcmdzviewitem
feedback entirely selling macs , it's positive (and, in opinion, extensive shill feedback).
sent him message, asking if authorized, , how warranty worked (since starts @ point of purchase -- point of purchase) , not when open box. received response:
"hi, no not apple dealer , buy systems resale major apple reseller. have sold hundreds of systems , have never encountered warranty issues. see feedback.
have had 1 macbook arrive buyer dead , buyer took local apple store , took care of no problems. (he did not want wait me send him another).
buy systems week list them , warranty has 1 year , week when them. have had longer."
bit warranty being year , week seems bs me, personally. in fact whole message seems little contrived...not sure. don't know how goes getting these computers , how can sell them $75 below apple prices (and doesn't factor in auction fees or paypal fees he's incurring). feedback's good...what guys think? i'm going send him message requesting serial number (this listed on outside of box, right?) can confirm warranty info on apple's website.
it doesn't bad me, ebay powerseller , agree feedback extensive shills.
might able 20% cash through live.com. go live.com , search popular 'canon digital camera' or 'cheap ipod'. typically link come offer 20% cashback buy-it-now ebay auctions paid paypal (up $250.) takes awhile money back, since it's through ms , ebay doubt there shady going on.
$1125 imac might cost $900.
