Current AT&T customer with scenario for iPhone 3G


here's scenario guys, , please tell me think.

switched carriers verizon at&t on 3/29/2008. knew @ time there has been rumors new iphone 3g coming out "maybe" summer , cheap phone at&t til new iphone comes out. less week away, want purchase new iphone on july 11th @ $299 (16gb) model. think at&t grant me wish? i'm going at&t tomorrow find out can do. whole intension switch "rollover minutes" , of course "new iphone". thoughts?
