help! cant start-up after attempted bootcamp install


hi,

messed bad. have 2.4 mbp (pen). use 10.5 leopard , vmware 1 virtual xp , 1 bootcamp xp. both worked fine. initial bootcamp xp did 5gb , needed more run halflife 2 didnt mind. last night dedicated time try , make more room think used wrong windows disc. (un-supported think). searched forums , couldn't find solution besides going apple store genius or applecare. don't have applecare.

ways started bootcamp assistant , chose install windows. went way wanted format entire drive thought made mistake , exited thinking should go , disk utility stuff.
black screen white cursor. when power on , hold option theres no osx. doh!

feel donkey because didnt backup stuff using time machine , fw hd.

know how fix this?

black screen, white cursor... that's windows :) incomplete version of windows, is.


... when hold alt(option) on startup, grey partition choice screen , have windows choose from? macintosh isn't choice ?

think wiped whole drive accident, man! think hit enter format wrong partition on hard drive.


not @ all!

best attempt recover critical files need off of drive following:

don't try reinstall windows or reformat cause more changes in hard drive surface (as in, keep on writing on data there "before" system can no longer see) ..

download , run data rescue ii on mac if have hold of one.

put macbook in target disk mode... (when powering on, holding option, hold t instead) firewire logo along battery life indicator show.

plug 1 of firewire cables macbook, plug other end mac have data rescue ii running on.

in data rescue, drive of macbook should pop in device list. click on , click on thorough scan. may take 2-5 hours depending on size of drive , how many files in os/x , windows partitions.

files still exist system can no longer see.

when done scanning give complete list of files recovered organized type of file is...

show folders
"document"(pages documents, word, excel, etc... )
"jpeg" (any photos, bmp files)
"sounds (any mp3 files, itunes, etc..)
"folders" folders recovered , still organized, folders not organized (not recoverable, files placed in folders mentioned above arranged file type... pain, better have files , not in order before not having them @ all, correct?
