External monitor only, lid open?


i'm using macbook pro lcd tv i'd able run off tv (so not laptop display) lid open time. reason lid shut wireless internet access severely weakened (despite indicator in menu bar showing full or full signal). know because download speed drops dramatically lid closed around 5 kbps when it's stable @ 250!

on windows use lid open external because nvidia driver has option. if watch download happening , close lid, rate instantly drops described above.

know of application or terminal command can disable built-in screen under mac os x (10.5.4)? tremendously helpful.

oh, , doubt helps, in case wondering external lcd sharp 45" lc-45gd1e high-def television.

know, hate how bad wireless when screen closed.. im thinking of buying linksys usb router thing dont want take usb port!
