Determining when iPhone has gone to "sleep"?


i've written app uses timer. never mind details every second app beeps. works fine.

iphone (at least display) goes "sleep" after period of time, 30 seconds maybe. when app running, display sleeps, app keeps beeping away.

there way find out when iphone has gone sleep can stop processing?

(when click home button wake iphone, app quits properly. i'd @ least halt/pause or quit on "sleep" event.)

need help with itunes 7.7
