Disabling firewire when mac goes to sleep


i don't know if has been answered before there way of getting osx cut firewire connections when goes sleep? reason being have soundcard , lacie drive on firewire ports , neither switch off when mac goes sleep. lacie more irritating factor because keeps disk spinning i.e. unwanted noise when myself go sleep... there may issues in i'm not aware of e.g. hard drive mounting issues if knows fix please post it.

if don't want drive powered when sleep, eject , unplug before sleeping mac.

need help with itunes 7.7
