Good deal on blackbook?


hey everyone, found deal locally through classifieds, 08 black macbook 4 gigs ram , office installed, disks hope...anyway says in shape , 1 year warranty till feb, , me being able purchase apple care seems deal @ 1200, offered 1000 , few days later accepted. worth it, or better wait update , new base or midrange model? help! i'm student eligible school offer...which seems making decision harder!
 

if comes ms office discs, original os x discs, , parts , accessories ship new macbooks, $1000 pretty blackbook maxed out ram.

$1200 one-year-used blackbook, since can purchased refurbished ('like new') much.
