Backing Up Hard Drive to Maxtor


you can see in thread hd took dive on weekend. have maxtor 3200 external hard drive set back-ups. have 1 machine on leopard , 1 on tiger. there no instructions drive other how assemble.
machine sees drive, can't copy on it. need going? partition drive can desktop , laptop.

this seemed work me. in case matter's, did on tiger machine.
1. went disk utility (applications-->utilities-->disk utilities.
2. selected erase tab , erased drive using os extended journaled format.
3. selected partition tab , partitioned drive 2 sections 2 machines using os extended journaled.

able copy on of files onto drive now. haven't tried on leopard machine. have tomorrow.

need help with itunes 7.7
