SSH Tunnel/SOCKS/iPhone/InternetSharing...


slightly technical, can help. also, i'm not sure if more os x question or iphone one...

occasionally, create ssh tunnel machine local socks server (ssh -d ...), , adjust network proxy prefs use @ 127.0.0.1:whateverportichose. works great (if slow).

same iphone (jailbroken, have more options there). currently, using internet sharing desktop machine give me wifi access on iphone, of course iphone uses normal internet, not tunnel. , there edit iphone's proxy settings (other http).

so, possible "internet share" tunnel somehow?

or alternatively, set tunnel direct iphone in mobileterminal, need somehow tell use local socks server. ideas?

need help with itunes 7.7
