i'm aware apple doesn't support windows xp64, hasn't been of issue. usual, newest version of itunes arrived few days ago, , did usual cracking nonsense make work on xp64 (basically take drivers vista 64, , presto-chango... works). however, firmware update breaking during appears me driver install called apple recovery (iboot) usb driver. becomes evident, quickly, windows xp64 plain old not compatible ipod touch. itunes gives up, , "unknown error (1604)" occurs.
now, have been 'clever' (desperate?) enough around various itunes compatibility issues , have had great relationship.
end of it? have information why apple finds freakin' necessary install drivers during freakin' firmware update? or did botch during 7.7 install?
other xp64 hackers running in this?
have information?
