Apple TV won't go into standby or reset to factory defaults


help!

sold guy on here... had gotten in trade, connected tv , worked fine , dandy me. kinda left stuff on there , figured reset it, whatevs.

got it, , now:

-the thing won't go standby. holds play/pause button long time (>6s) , nothing happens.

- thing not reinstall or reset factory default. neither menu nor remote combination work. (ps don't know means that)

need guy's getting working: cannot afford give refund 4 weeks, since have no money in checking, have pay $$ summer class, , have pay bills. i'm in hole, , selling helped save me awhile.

dying battery in remote, or ir receiver? if else fails: dhl damage claim best bet, before late?
 

well, guy bought going try updating newest firmware today... think have effect on it?

unplugging, waiting 5 minutes, , plugging in?

know of remote controls dying?

need help with itunes 7.7
