Time Capsule


as macbook pro owner fumbles in terms of compatibility linksys router struggling external hard drive (often forgetting plug in time machine, not mention computer hard drive twice size external), think tc option me. said, have few q's make sure work lifestyle.

i'm college student, keep switching between college dorm , home. @ dorm, simple plugging in router ethernet jack in wall. assume, if able linksys 1 work (despite having unplug , replug in on daily basis reset), 1 work there.

however, @ home, there network set both wired , wireless through linksys router. still able plug in tc @ home? simple plugging ethernet jack in room (i have both cat5 , cat6)? if not, able plug router in basement?

biggest fear offsetting, or affecting in place home network in way. before tc, want make sure it'll compatible residence 4 months of year.


have read far, , further can respond of issues/questions. :)
 

you able use tc in both locations setup different. yo have go setup unility , change setting each time move tc. it's pretty easy. select "join existing network" when @ home , "create network" when in dorm , enter details.

other plan might buy tc dorm , keep hard drive @ home. have redundant off-site backup. general rule not keep backups in same building. fire or theft can cause loose everything.

need help with itunes 7.7
