Trouble with Wifi on iPhone 3G


hey people, i'm having trouble iphone 3g's wifi.

iphone's able detect network ok, , takes wep key ok, doesn't seem able use wifi network problem because o2's 3g , edge signal quite weak in house.

1 thing i've noticed under ip address iphone says 169.254.23.80, expect 192.168.1.x that's other wifi device's ip addresses are.

after extensive testing, i'm sure it's 2.0 software - upgraded 1st gen iphone last night , exhibits exact same problem.

wifi icon, , network shows under settings > wi-fi > choose network - when trying load pages in safari, connection either times-out -or- loads page ok subsequent page becoming unresponsive.

need help with itunes 7.7
