Strange "Alarm" on new MacBook at power on


i gave wife macbook birthday. 2.4ghz 2gb of ram. (white if matters)

been booted 5 times us. on 3 of occasions, after pushing power button, screen comes on not display , loud beeping alarm sounds while standby light (next ir receiver) flashes in unison alarm.

correct problem, necessary push power button again turn off machine. turn on , boots normally.

did searching on interweb , didn't find anything, or advice appreciated before take not-so-genius :apple: bar in tampa.

it's trying firmware update... happens when hold power button down ~5 seconds or more. guess you're either holding power button down long or power button gets stuck down when turn on.

need help with itunes 7.7
