OSX, Photoshop, Excessive Pageouts


i have 2x 2.66 dual core intel xeon mac 5gb of ram. running latest osx. lately, have been noticing slowdowns and, when using terminal, have been seeing lot of pageouts.

screengrabs below, had fresh restart, , opened 5 layered photoshop files in photoshop each @ 100mb in size (dragged finder, not using bridge -- bridge not open). opened, pageouts remained @ zero. right after finished opening, saw pageouts steadily climb number in screengrab. wasn't doing other activity... , number kept climbing, , stopped.

go ahead , set ram usage 3072.

why primary scratch disc have 8gb free?

issue...not 1 cause page-outs, 1 cause notice them.

mac pro has 10 gb , 4gb in use right now, , swap file 4gb according activity viewer. i'm on 22 days of uptime. page outs less 20% of page ins.

photoshop virtual memory under 3gb right now.

need help with itunes 7.7
