Do I have to go to an AT&T store?


i have heard many, many rumors can iphone @ at&t store because sort of company discount on current cell phone.

have spent far time on lines, , in , out of product-barren at&t stores past week trying find me iphone, no avail. had been told employee @ apple store had go at&t because of discount thing, i'm still looking confirmation it's true.

seems our at&t stores getting shaft - have not been in store has had shipment since launch day, , aware how little inventory received in first place. also, earlier week when tried direct fulfillment thing said weren't doing longer. more direct unfulfillment.

guess i'm posting see if can tell me if i'm stuck waiting at&t store shipment. also, options if go apple store , try buy one? current at&t customer, upgrade-eligible...

i was/am in exact same situation , here's did/am going do:

have new white iphones on order @ local at&t store mentioned, god knows when they'll next shipment. so... i'm headed apple store first thing tomorrow morning. however, called at&t , asked them remove corporate discount took 2 minutes , change immediate. should have no problems buying new phones tomorrow.

hope helped. once have new phones apple store cancel order at&t.

oh , when mentioned at&t rep removing corporate discount, said "oh you're buying iphone" laughed , said "yup"

need help with itunes 7.7
