Problem with a casing crack on 2006 macbook


woohoo, first post. on important stuff!

so, got macbook present christmas 2006. it's been great, 3 months ago hairline fracture appeared in right bottom corner. @ first thought cosmetic, grew little , since i've kept in place scotch tape. fine now, i'm worried if affect later.


want @ least lower casing replaced, i'm out of warranty, , not want have spend $400. macbook has been treated impeccably, , leaves desk. has never knowledge been dropped , whenever take out put in travel case.

i've done little bit of googling , looks problem isn't uncommon. moved out sticks , nearest apple store 2+ hours away. don't want charged unreasonably calling customer support. there can this?

there's slight discoloring on trackpad, if cares.

go apple store. while mine replaced under warranty, several posters have stated apple fix out of warranty because known issue occurs. luck.

need help with itunes 7.7
