How can I get GPS working on my Touch?

after playing around touch bit, i've found 'directions' part of maps.

i'd able use functionality gives me directions based on current location.

however, i'm continually getting error message saying current location can not determined, hoping on here might able tell me i'm doing wrong.

need download additional software or configure touch in kind of way?

alot,

the ipod touch (and iphone) require data connection provide location data device. if you're not connected wifi network cannot load data , tell are.

now, unlike iphone, ipod touch can find it's location based on work of people @ skyhook wireless. if have conducted survey of area , mapped wifi networks in area should work if have not it's not going possible find current locale.

iphone can use wifi data, mobile phone tower triangulation , gps locate down within few metres. ipod touch cannot accurate , relies on third party companies it's information.
