can explain me how o2 'pay , go' tariffs work?

if on £10-£14 moth pay , go tariff:

put in £10 @ start of month , free allowance (300 texts, 50 mins etc). can use allowance month, miss next monthly top-up start eating in £10 credit? when credit depleted can put in £10 @ convenience, allowance, rinse , repeat?

surely if forced top every month contract?

can clarify please?
