Direct Connect with new iMac


the new imac here, , first mac. reading on apple's website , discovered direct connect method. had planned use our external hdd move files, looks alot easier. thing couldn't figure out xp pc's sharename. finding ip address isn't difficult, lost me sharename.

smb://ipaddress/sharename

want know sharename.
also, basic walkthrough appreciated:

follow onscreen instructions enter pc's workgroup name, user name, password, , volume or folder wish access.

volume: e or c drive?
there no passwords, leave blank?
workgroup name somewhere in computer, i'll find if , googlin' .

if have many gigs of data move, using external hard drive faster.

share name ever set be. assuming using xp , want move data several folders on pc, share out entire pc hard drive. this: go computer, right click local disk c, left click on sharing , security, click on message says "if understand risk, still want share root of drive, click here" twice, click on enable file sharing, click checkbox next "share folder on network" check "allow users change files" click ok.

need help with itunes 7.7
