Quick Question on 3g Antenna


just quick question, tried searching couldn't find it. if leave 3g on , in 3g area travel area edge , iphone switches automatically edge...will iphone turn off 3g antenna preserve battery life? otherwise should go settings , turn off manually if know im in area without 3g? thanks.
 

tbh, don't know whether or not 3g antenna turned off, seem me remain on. way, phone able detect 3g network if entered 3g area... that's logic @ least... no proof though.

need help with itunes 7.7
