Windows Pings OS X, but not other way around


i got macbook pro today , gave old ibook sister , we're trying move itunes collection (8+ gb) on network ibook, os x not see windows xp machine @ all. have no firewalls enabled on of our computers. weird thing is, windows can ping os x machines, os x cannot ping windows.

have suggestions?
 

i realise comment not helpful, not transfer +8gb on network. windows' tcp/ip stack bad in handling lots of files. usb memory sticks cheap nowadays , it's lot easier way share files between win/mac.

need help with itunes 7.7
