iphone 3g windows pwnage
author: bigboss given these instructions user futurebsd , have not tested them. therefore, use them @ own risk , please leave comments whether or not these work. original post comes forum.
make sure have backup of phone 1. need download 2 files:
x12220000_4_recovery.ipsw , iphone1,2_2.0_5a347_custom_restore.ipsw. can both of them on here:
http://users.on.net/thevillage/pwnage/win/ 2. make sure have itunes 7.7 installed.
vista: click start copy search box , press enter after:
xp: click start run, copy run box:

%appdata%\apple computer\itunes
3. make directory callled: device support
if exists, clear it.
4. copy x12220000_4_recovery.ipsw device support folder created.
5. ok, need device dfu mode. watch video see how:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fitckmzfyfk 6. once phone in dfu mode , detected itunes (should black screen on phone not itunes logo usb cable), click on iphone in itunes, hold shift key , click on restore.
7. browse folder downloaded iphone1,2_2.0_5a347_custom_restore.ipsw , select it. itunes extract file , see ipod dev team’s pinapple logo pop after few seonds, this:

9. restore backup! should automatically made. should pop right after downloading carrier settings, may right clicking iphone on left, , selecting “restore iphone”
10. that’s it, you’re done!
